   Actress
   One of the most versatile and successful actresses of her generation, Maura is internationally renowned for her work with Almodóvar, starring in roles such as Pepa in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios, 1988) or Tina in La ley del deseo (Law of Desire) (1987). Already, however, she had had a continuous career in Spanish film and television and had worked widely in performing roles throughout the 1960s. She became a charismatic television pre-senter for a popular chat show in the 1980s and continues to work in Spain and abroad.
